Humans are excellent in recognizing patterns as this demonstration will show. You see two identical transparent images showing a random dot pattern laying on top of each other. One of the images can be rotated, resized, and shifted horizontally and vertically. As long the transformations are kept within certain limits the human brain will connect corresponding dots, resulting in seeing circles and lines.
